The Minister who doubles as the Member of Parliament for the constituency also donated over 10,000 exercise books and other educational materials to the children.
He said the reason behind the Christmas party was to further his desire to constantly keep in touch with the people.
“I made it a point to always be in touch with my people and also to know and be educated on current issues,” he explained.
He said the children represented the future of the country, and organizing a party for them rekindles the strong bond that exists within the constituency.
He urged the children to take their studies seriously in order to contribute to the development of the country.
“I must tell you that there is no special wand or magic to success, it is all embedded in the books and the academic work that your teachers will be taking you through. It is important you pay attention to it and ensure that you come out with success,” he counseled.
He advised parents to pay particular attention to the progress of their children in school and always encourage them to aspire for high grades.
The minister said he would continue to support education, health and other development projects to ensure the development of the district and constituency.

Elderly care centre
Speaking of the elderly care centre, he assured the people that the centre would soon be completed and will serve as a place for the care of the physically challenged and the aged.
The physically challenged, he said, have a lot to contribute to the development of the country and that aside the support, he would continue to bring them closer to himself.
“Let me assure you that, when the centre is completed, it will provide us with the opportunity to meet regularly. Health screening and other expert health care advice would be made available,” he said.
The children after enjoying delicious meals at the party took part in fun activities such as face painting, sack race, spoon and lime race and dancing competition from all of which they won prizes.
