Eric Oduro Osae submits documents to GTEC to validate use of ‘Dr.’ title

The former Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency, Eric Oduro Osae, has submitted official documents to the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to validate his use of the academic title “Dr.”

This follows a formal request from GTEC in a letter dated October 8, 2025, signed by its Director-General, Prof. Ahmed Jinapor Abdulai, asking him to provide verifiable proof of a terminal degree, such as a PhD or EdD, from a recognised and accredited institution.

In compliance, Eric Oduro Osae has submitted copies of his degree certificate, official transcript, and a degree evaluation letter issued in November 2015 by the former National Accreditation Board (NAB), now succeeded by GTEC. The NAB letter confirmed the equivalence of his qualification to similar degrees awarded by recognised universities in Ghana.

He also noted that signed copies of his defended thesis, along with books and academic papers he has authored over the past decade, are available for review.

Eric Oduro Osae expressed confidence that the submitted documents, including the three key attachments, would satisfy GTEC’s requirements for verifying his credentials.
