Fake soldier arrested in Tamale
A man who posed as a soldier and assembled military accoutrement for that purpose has been arrested in Tamale.
The 34-year-old Issah Abdul Mubarik was picked for claiming he was a soldier with the 6th Battalion of Infantry (6BN) in Tamale.

Mubarik, a native of Bawku in the Upper East Region had dressed in a military uniform at the time of his arrest.
He went to the Tamale Metro Police station Tuesday morning to seek police assistance for the arrest of someone he alleged had stolen his motorbike.
The police however became suspicious of him and caused his arrest. The military accoutrement were later retrieved from his room after a search by the police.
The items found in the room included two sets of military uniforms bearing the name A. Mubarik, a pair of military trousers, two military pullovers, two military vest, a military combat boot, a military cup, a pair of military gloves, two pieces of 9mm ammunitions, a rubber stamp bearing the name of Forces Pay Regiment, Burma Camp, Accra and some certificates suspected to be forged.
The Tamale Metropolitan Police Commander, Superintendent (Supt), Mr. Dinam Zoiku at a media briefing said the suspect told the police the military accoutrement belonged to his grandfather who was a soldier.
According to him, the suspect on October 16, 2017 came to the Tamale Metro Police station dressed in military uniform and handed over a suspect whom he claimed had stolen his motorbike some months back.

Supt. Zoiku said Mubarik told the police that he was a soldier with the 6bn in Tamale and went ahead to write same in his statement to the police.
The Metro Police commander said the police were skeptical about the identity of Mubarik and upon further interrogation he admitted he was not a soldier and that the military accoutrements belonged to his grandfather.
He said the police was conducting further investigations into the matter and would arraign the suspect in court after investigations were completed.
