Fire contained at Bolgatanga Technical Institute library and office

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has successfully contained a fire that broke out at the Bolgatanga Technical Institute library and the Senior Housemaster’s office in the late hours of Monday, August 18.

According to the Service, the blaze, reported at 12:57 a.m., was tackled by a team of firefighters led by STNO II Azanga Peter Agambare.

The crew arrived at the scene within minutes and deployed both offensive and defensive firefighting tactics, bringing the fire under control by 1:46 a.m. and fully extinguishing it by 1:56 a.m.

The GNFS confirmed that books, office furniture, equipment, and other property were destroyed. However, its swift intervention prevented the fire from spreading to nearby school facilities.

Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the outbreak.
