First African aviation expo for Accra next year

The first all-inclusive aviation exhibition and conference for Africa has been slated for Accra in October 2016.

The exhibition will bring players in the aviation industry from all over the world on one platform to deliberate on the future of aviation in Africa.

Launching the expo, the Minister of Transport, Mrs Dzifa Attivor, said the relaunch of the African Air Expo made the statement that Ghana and Africa were the obvious choices for the future of global aviation.

She said the expo was initially programmed for last year but due to the Ebola outbreak in parts of the continent, it was postponed.

Mrs Attivor said research conducted by the African Development Bank between 2010 and 2014 showed that Africa was the third fastest growing region in the world, in terms of international traffic, with an average of 5.8 per cent, with the Middle East and the Asia Pacific registering 7.9 per cent and 6.9 per cent, respectively.
