Former Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif mourns loss of sister; funeral scheduled for Sunday in Koforidua

Former Minister for Youth and Sports and current Member of Parliament for Yagaba Kubore, Mustapha Ussif, has announced the passing of his elder sister, Hajara Yussif, following a brief illness in Accra.

Hajara Yussif, who died last week, has already been laid to rest in accordance with Islamic customs. Her final funeral prayers (Adua) are scheduled to take place on Sunday, 6th July, in Koforidua.

Mr Ussif shared news of the bereavement and funeral arrangements on his official Facebook page, expressing gratitude and extending an invitation to the public to join his family in prayer.

"On behalf of my family, I humbly invite friends, loved ones, and well-wishers to join us in the final funeral prayers (Adua) for our beloved sister, Hajarah Yussif," the former Minister posted.

The ceremony will be held at Opoku Nsiah Lane 12, adjacent to White House, Mile 50 in Koforidua, and is expected to begin at 9:00 a.m.

The late Hajara Yussif was part of a closely-knit family rooted in Koforidua, where Mustapha Ussif spent part of his early life. The MP’s parents still reside in the Eastern Regional capital.

The announcement has prompted a wave of condolences from colleagues, constituents, and members of the sports and political fraternity.
