Three people burnt, several injured in Suhum-Accra tanker explosion after driver lost control according to police; 10 vehicles burnt
Three people were burnt beyond recognition in a road traffic accident that resulted in a fire at Signboard near Okanta, off the Suhim–Accra N6-Highway on Saturday dawn.
Firefighters from the Suhum and Bunso Fire Stations responded to the road traffic accident at about 4:49 am.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident resulted in a fire on the highway.
It involved a fuel (petrol) tanker, a VVIP bus, and three other vehicles, which burst into flames.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) initially reported that three persons lost their lives instantly, while seven others sustained injuries.
All the vehicles involved were completely burnt.

In a police update, it was explained that the fuel tanker loaded with petrol from Tema to Kumasi was involved in an accident on reaching a section of the road at Ntoaso on Accra-Suhum dual carriage.
The police indicated that preliminary investigation indicates that the driver lost control of the vehicle leading to the bulk blasting and the fuel splashed on vehicles behind it.

In all six vehicles and four motorcycles got burnt.
The police explained that two unidentified male charred bodies were also found at the scene and one unidentified body in one of the burnt vehicles.
About four persons who sustained injuries due to the blast were rushed to nearby health facilities for medical attention.
