Disregard misinformation on ammunition transport - Ghana Armed Forces
The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has urged the public to disregard misinformation and stressed the importance of verifying details related to security operations before sharing them online.
In a statement reacting to an allegation about the misuse of military facilities for transporting ammunition, the GAF described the allegation as baseless.

The claim, made in an audio recording circulated on social media alleged that a civilian pickup truck was permitted entry into the Magazine at the 5 Battalion of Infantry to move boxes of ammunition to an undisclosed location.
However, in a statement dated Wednesday, December 25, 2024. signed and issued by Brigadier General Eric Aggrey Quashie, the Director General of the Department of Public Relations, the Ghana Armed Forces clarified that the vehicle in question was used to deliver a newly acquired live cow. The animal was quarantined upon delivery and later relocated to a kraal near the Magazine.
The GAF therefore urged the public to disregard the misinformation and stressed the importance of verifying details related to security operations before sharing them online.
“Such actions tend to create unnecessary tension and also cause fear and panic in the country, especially around this period,” the release cautioned.
The armed forces further highlighted the risks of spreading unverified information, emphasising its potential to incite fear and disrupt national peace.
