Ghana National College 1982 year group donates to alma mater in Cape Coast
The 1982 year group of the Ghana National College in Cape Coast, has donated two pieces of 100-capacity incinerators to their alma mater.
The incinerators are to help especially female students to environmentally burn used sanitary pads or towels.
The donation was under the auspices of the President of the 1982 Year Group, Nana Ebenezer Woode.
This was to commemorate the birthday of the first Prime Minister of Ghana and the founder of the College, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, which fell on Saturday, September 21.
At the presentation on Friday, October 11, 2024, the group handed over the incinerators to the management of the college.
Present at the handing over were Nana James Essien Arthur, the Assistant Secretary of the Nananom 1982 Sanitation Campaign Team, and Mrs. Nancy Arthur Hayford, a former treasurer (Central Region) of the 1982 year group.
Madam Gifty Arthur, Assistant Headmistress Domestic Affairs, received the kind gesture on behalf of the headmaster, Nana Joseph Ato Sarpong, an alumnus of the college.
Other management staff present were Mr. Lucky Ahiakpor, Assistant Headmaster Admistration, Madam Cecilia Koomson, Assistant Headmistress Academic, and Mr. J. B. Coomson, Senior Most Housemaster.
Madam Arthur expressed gratitude to the group and asked all alumni, both home and abroad, to assist the school in any way that they could to make life better for the students.
