Two former students of the Tapaman Senior Technical and the Worawora Senior High schools have been remanded in prison custody by the District Court at Dambai in the Oti Region for allegedly causing the death of Fulani headsman, Amadu Abudula.
The accused are Solomon Anibreh and Lukas Akwasi.
Abudula, 36, was found by the police at the students' groundnut farm and rushed to the Worawora Government Hospital on April 24, 2025, but died four hours later.
Facts of the case
According to the facts of the case, the two students cultivated a two-and-a-half-acre groundnut farm to raise funds to enable them to further their education.
However, whilst on the farm, the deceased allegedly drove a herd of cattle to the farm, destroying the farm in the process.
The incident provoked the accused persons, who allegedly pounced on Abudula and assaulted him.
Upon a tip-off, the Pai Katanga police rushed to the scene to rescue the victim and rush him to the Worawora Government Hospital for treatment, but he died later.
