Gomoa Asempanyi Omankrado declares war on drug abuse among youth
The Omankrado of Gomoa Asempanyi in the Central Region, Nana Kumasah Krampah II, has declared war on drug abuse among the youth in his area.
Consequently, he has entreated the youth to desist from the use of illicit drugs, particularly cannabis, which could ruin their lives.
He appealed to the youth to put their destiny into their own hands and fight for a better future for themselves rather than destroy it with drugs.
Nana Krampah said this when the Omanhene of Gomoa Assin Traditional Council, Obirifo Ahunako Ahor Ankobeah II, promoted him to the Traditional Council with the title of Amankra-Kumahene (Deputy Chief Protocol) of the Gomoa Assin Traditional Council.
He expressed concern about how some security personnel were engaged in drug and criminal activities in the country, urging that they should put a stop to that and be good examples to the youth by educating them on the effects of drug abuse, rather than encouraging them.
He also appealed to stakeholders to join the nationwide fight against drug abuse to save the lives of the country’s present generation of youth, to help them become responsible national future leaders.
He pledged to support the Gomoa Assin Omanhene and other chiefs to help develop Gomoaman and promised to stay away from unnecessary chieftaincy disputes.
