Innovative, affordable housing solutions headline Graphic/GREDA Home Fair opening on Thursday

The State Housing Company Limited (SHCL) will showcase innovative and affordable housing solutions that reflect its mission of bridging the nation’s housing gap at this year's Daily Graphic/GREDA Home Fair.

Speaking ahead of the event, the Business Development Manager of SHCL, Juliet Emefa Gborglah, said the company’s participation would provide patrons with a clear view of its ongoing projects and the range of services it offered.

“We are here to show the Ghanaian public that State Housing remains committed to delivering decent, affordable and modern homes.

At the fair, visitors will learn about our current projects and how we are working to meet the needs of diverse income groups,” she explained.

Activities

Opening on Thursday, August 28 at the Accra Mall Food Court, the Daily Graphic/GREDA Home Fair will run for three days, and bring together stakeholders across the housing value chain.

It will feature a special dialogue session with key institutions such as the Lands Commission, State Housing Company Ltd and the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources.

The discussions will highlight policies, innovations and solutions aimed at addressing Ghana’s housing deficit.

In addition, participants will have the opportunity to engage with exhibitors, including real estate developers, banks and mortgage providers, building material suppliers and technology service providers.

The event is designed not only to connect potential homeowners to housing solutions but also to serve as a learning platform for the industry.

Accessibility

For SHCL, participation in the Home Fair is directly tied to its mandate of making homeownership accessible to all Ghanaians, particularly low- and middle-income earners.

Since its establishment, the company has spearheaded government’s vision of providing safe and affordable housing, delivering landmark communities such as North Kaneshie, Adenta Housing and Dansoman Estate.

More recently, SHCL has rolled out projects, including affordable housing at Pokuase, Ohene’s Court in Kumasi, Urban Premier Villa at Adenta and Surge Homes at Amrahia, developments that combine affordability with sustainability and modern design.

At the Home Fair, prospective homeowners will have the chance to explore these projects in detail.

Ms Gborglah stated that SHCL also saw the Home Fair as an opportunity to demonstrate its commitment to environmentally friendly practices.

“As the industry shifts towards green and eco-friendly solutions, we are embracing sustainable building methods that ensure comfort while reducing long-term costs for homeowners,” she said.

Over the years, the Daily Graphic/GREDA Home Fair has grown into a leading platform for showcasing housing innovations and policy discussions.

With SHCL’s participation, GCGL, one of the organisers, believes the event will reinforce the crucial role of state-led housing initiatives in bridging the national housing gap and shaping Ghana’s urban future.
