NPP to inaugurate Friends of Bawumia in US
The United States Chapter of the New Patriotic Patriotic Party (NPP) will on October 12, this year, inaugurate its branch of Friends of Bawumia.

The ceremony, which is expected to lubricate the wheels of the party in the run-up to the December 7 Presidential and parliamentary elections, would also kick-start a fundraising project to support the 2024 campaign of the NPP.
The Secretary of the FoB, USA branch, Tommy Asante, who briefed the Daily Graphic said, the ceremony would be the beginning of a membership drive for the party in the USA.
“All is set for the inauguration of the Friends of Bawumia (FoB-USA), an auxiliary arm of the party on October 12, 2024,” Mr Asante said.
According to him, the sole objective for the inauguration was to reinvigorate the party base in the USA to ensure that the Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) ticket emerged victorious after December 7, 2024.
Mr Asante said the event was scheduled to take place on Zoom so as to increase participation across the board.
Dignitaries
He mentioned some of the dignitaries expected to grace the occasion as Ghana’s Ambassador to the USA, Hajia Alima Mahama; a Senior Campaign Aide, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, and the Chairman of the National Campaign Diaspora Committee, Dr Akwasi A. Achampong.
The others are the Chairperson of the USA branch of the NPP, Obaa Yaa A. Frimpong; the Founder and Chairman of the FoB, USA, Samuel Ofosu-Appiah, as well as a Founding Member of FoB, USA, Betty A. Nyantatwiaa Kwaako.

Touting some of the achievements of the government such as the free Senior High School (free SHS) policy, the intensive road construction across the country, the One District One Factory (1D 1F) and the One Constituency One Ambulance, Mr Asante urged Ghanaians to be guided by the poor performance of former President John Mahama so as not to make the mistake of bringing him back.
He said Dr Bawumia was the sole candidate who could build on the solid foundation laid by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
In that regard, Mr Asante called on all NPP faithful across the globe and Ghanaians in general to rally behind Dr Bawumia for victory on December 7, 2024.
“Our only hope in the 2024 election is Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, we cannot go back to the failures of the former NDC administration. I am, therefore, calling on all well-meaning Ghanaians to join the crusade to work hard and ensure victory for Dr Bawumia and the NPP,” he said.
Vision
Touching on the vision of Dr Bawumia to turn things around, the FoB USA Secretary called on Ghanaians to embrace the digitalisation agenda of the government.
He said the world was moving into the fourth industrial revolution and, therefore, Ghana could not be left out in that development.
Mr Asante mentioned the introduction of the digital address system, the mobile money interoperability and the Ghana card as initiatives which would propel the country to be visible in the fourth industrial revolution.
He said the December 7, 2024 election was “all about giving Dr Bawumia the chance to take over from his boss, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to complete his good work”.
He, therefore, gave the assurance that the FoB, USA, would put its shoulders to the wheel to ensure victory for Dr Bawumia and the NPP.
