The word of God does not create fear and panic - Rev Korankye Ankrah

The founder of the Royalhouse Chapel International, Rev Samuel Korankye Ankrah says the word of God does not create fear and panic but rather brings peace, life and transformation to the individual and the society at large.

He has therefore apologised on behalf of all Christian bodies in the country to everyone who has been hurt and offended by certain pronouncements and predictions made by religious leaders.

His apology comes on the heels of predictions that some prominent personalities including the Chief Imam of Ghana, Sheikh Dr Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia and former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and John Mahama might die in 2019.

This resulted in some irate Muslim youth attacking the Odorkor branch of the Glorious Word and Power Ministries International in Accra over the prophecies.

Delivering his first Sunday sermon of the year during church service, Rev Korankye Ankrah went on his knees and apologised to the Chief Imam on behalf of the Church concerning the doom prophecies of prominent people by his colleague ‘men of God’.

“The gospel is a gospel of life and not death; therefore the Royalhouse Chapel International, the National Peace Council, Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, the Christian Council of Ghana and other various churches we want to say we are sorry to the National Islamic Chief Imam”.

Rev Korankye Ankrah said the Chief Imam has served the Muslim community very well and recommended him for the peace he has preached to maintain harmony and co-existence between Muslims and Christians in Ghana over the years.

“At your age, I salute your grey hair and your wisdom, please forgive us, those who made those statements are young, to err is human. For speaking with the Muslims youth to stay away from vandalism and from destroying church properties, we salute you.”, he said.

“On behalf of Royal House Chapel and all bible believing churches, we appeal to all victims who have been hurt and Muslims youth to find a palace in their heart to forgive, because Islam stands for unity and peace”.

Rev Korankye Ankrah known as the Apostle General, added that “not all of us are in favour of the utterances, and we are not endorsing the utterances because they don’t come from God”.

He explained that utterances from God edifies, brings hope and life. “We know that someday you will die, even if 2019 you die, you have died serving your people  and you die in respect, honour and glory, even if you die you will not die because of somebody’s utterance, but because you are done with your assignment on earth.”

To the Vice President

The Apostle General also pleaded with other individuals mentioned in what he described as fake prophecies to forgive the Church.

To Dr Bawumia he said, “We are praying for you to live long so that your children and your grandchildren will not become orphans.”

Rev Korankye Ankrah also assured former President Mahama that the hand of God is upon him hence that he will live long.

“His Excellency John Mahama, I don’t know what to tell you, every year they say you will die, but you are still alive, Sir the hand of the Lord is upon you, but Sir you don’t have to take this utterance for joke, while I say they are not prophecies as per my teachings, they could be curses in the name of relations, they can be human mind projections.”

“We are praying for you and your pastors are also praying for you, and we are also asking you to forgive us the members of the church and the clergy,” he said.

Relatives of those on the deathrow

He encouraged relations of persons who had been predicted to die to remain steadfast because the bible says death will be overcome with the blood of Jesus.

Apologising to the former president Agyekum Kufuor and his wife, he said “We know you are in your very old age and as it is expected, there will be some weakness in your bodies, which does not give anyone the impetus to pronounce death upon you when God has not decided to kill you. Even if you die this year, it is not because of anybody’s pronouncement, but because you have finished your work.”
