Named the longest-serving minister in a leadership position, he has retired not due to fatigue but to make way for the younger generation.

Born in Akuse in the Eastern Region, Apostle Dr Adulai moved to Hohoe in February 1982 to fulfil a heavenly call after completing the Southern Ghana Bible College in Saltpond.

He engaged himself in house-to-house evangelism, which led to the foundation of the Revival Assemblies of God with members.

Eulogising him at the retirement service last week Sunday at Hohoe in the Volta Region, which was on the theme “The mandate to lead to Christ; The role of the forerunner”, the General Superintendent, AG, Ghana, Reverend Stephen Wengam, said Apostle Dr Adulai for his over four decades of dedicated service positively impacted not only the local church, district and region but the entire nation and beyond.

Leadership, achievements

Rev. Wengam said for his continued leadership and service throughout the period, he served from the local, district, regional and national levels.

“You will be remembered for your humility, selflessness and dedication to your service to God and humanity, a trait I have observed since our first encounter, as a mark of true leadership,” he said.

While in service, he said Apostle Dr Adulai also played a leading role in bringing an end to the Hohoe-Zongo disturbances that rocked the township in 2009, sponsored three pastors every year who would proceed to establish branches of the church in various parts of the country and instituted a provident fund, among others.

“It is in this light that I join the pastors, family members, friends and the many well-wishers herein gathered to thank you immensely for the selfless service you rendered. Thank you for the banquet you fed His sheep! Ayekoo, for a work well done,” he added.

Tribute

The Executive Chairman of First Sky Group, Eric Seddy Kutortse, who is a member of the church, commended Apostle Dr Adulai for his efforts in assisting him to build 30 churches in the remotest part of the Oti and Volta regions in 2007.

As a gesture of his commitment to evangelism, Mr Kutortse made a generous donation by presenting the keys of a brand new Toyota Land Cruiser to the retiring Apostle to assist him in his new role after his existence from active service.

The Paramount Chief of the Gbi Traditional Area, Togbega Gabusu VII, said the legacy Apostle Dr Adulai was leaving behind would inspire and guide the generation from now onwards.

He stated that with his unwavering love and passionate support for the vulnerable, Apostle Dr Adulai had extended his service to the community of Ahado, a suburb of Hohoe, by providing potable water and constructing the intensive care unit block at the Volta Regional Hospital at Hohoe.

In his appreciation and response, Apostle Dr Adulai expressed his gratitude to the community through Togbega Gabusu VII for allowing him to be part of them for over four decades.

He thanked the Lord for showering his blessings on him to build the church and prayed that his successor, Reverend Emmanuel Dufe, would continue to expand the church to the Glory of God.
