Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Frytol Edwomhemaa competition held at the Kaneshie Market in Accra, she said there was the need for Ghanaians to patronise Made-in-Ghana products, rather than depending solely on imported products.

Five market women were selected and given various frytol products to compete against one another.

They were to use the product to cook various foods and sell it to their customers. The woman with the highest customers was sworn in as Frytol Edwomhemaa at the Kaneshie Market.

Madam Elizabeth Dorma, after the two-hour competition, secured the highest number of customers and was adjudged the overall winner.

She was given a hamper, a certificate, frytol products and a crown as her prize. The other four contestants were also given hampers.

According to Mrs Alimohamed, the competition would be replicated in selected markets in Accra.
