Helicopter lands at Abelempke JSS and causes anxiety (photos)

The hovering of a helicopter around the Abelemkpe Junior High School in Accra on Wednesday afternoon and later landing on the school park made residents and school pupils come out to find out what was happening.

The all-white helicopter with registration 9G-AEP brought business activities within the area to a standstill while people watched how it was maneuvering.

Eyewitnesses said it spent about three minutes hovering around the area before landing on the park at about 12:10pm. As of 1 pm the eye witnesses told Graphic Online it was still on the school.

The pilot told some of the people who rushed there they were engaged in a normal exercise but the eyewitnesses said some technical experts later visited the scene in a pick-up vehicle with personnel from the Kotobabi Police to assess the situation.

The incident attracted a lot of curious people to the field that was cordoned off by private security officers from Intercon.
