IGP directs transfer of YFM presenter to Accra; police suspect whole incident was staged
The inspector General of Police (IGP) has directed that the lady at the centre of the Takoradi alleged abduction and sexual assault case should be transferred to Accra.

This is because the police have gathered fresh evidence that points to the fact that the whole incident may have been staged.
Police have also gathered that the whole incident, whether it was staged or indeed happened as has been claimed by the lady took place in Accra.
Therefore since the jurisdiction was outside of Takoradi, the lady is being transferred to Accra for further investigations.
The police are yet to officially speak on the incident and have scheduled a press briefing in Accra at the police headquarters on Thursday morning.
Graphiconline however gathers that the police were considering prosecuting her for deceit.
Not a Nigerian
Her real name has been identified as Persis Naana Akosua Appiah Antwi. However, she is known commonly among her colleagues in Takoradi as Adaeze Onyinyechie Ayoka, a.k.a. Ada and that she was not a Nigerian as had earlier been reported by some media houses. She is a native of the Eastern region in Ghana.
Initial tests and observations on her at the GHAPOHA Hospital in Takoradi have been forwarded to the Police Hospital in Accra.
Blood samples have also been taken to ascertain whether she was indeed raped.
Doctors at the GHAPOHA Hospital have deferred comments on their initial observations to the Police Hospital in Accra.
According to them, based on what they have done so far they cannot conclude that the lady was sexually assaulted.
Her family members visited her on Wednesday at the hospital in Takoradi.
Named by her employers as Ada, the presenter of Takoradi-based YFM, was said to have been abducted last week and sexually assaulted by unknown individuals. She was found Tuesday morning and was sent to the GHAPOHA Hospital in Takoradi.
She had been missing for about five days and her employers - Global Media Alliance – owners of YFM put out her name and asked the public to help find her.
Her abductors reportedly took pictures of the sexual assault, which they posted on Facebook. Some of the pictures have also been circulating on Whatsapp.
Krobo Girls High School
Her school mates at the Krobo Girls High School in the Eastern region have described her as someone noted for concocting stories.
Boyfriend
Her boyfriend, Rahman Nunoo, speaking to journalists in Takoradi early on Wednesday, said he doubted her claims of abduction and sexual assault and that her story did not add up.
