Landlord ‘butchers’ tenant
A landlord at Ablekuma Manhean, near Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region, has allegedly butchered his tenant and inflicted machete wounds on the wife of the tenant.
The landlord, Mr Adjei Boye, 35, has since been arrested by the Amasaman Police.
The machete he allegedly used is, however, yet to be retrieved.

The incident is said to have happened after the tenant — identified as Mr Kweku Abu, 38 — confronted the landlord for allegedly spanking his (Abu's) one-year-old daughter who was playing in front of Mr Boye's barbering shop close to their residence.
The confrontation led to an exchange of words, and later degenerated into a scuffle during which Mr Boye dashed into his room and returned with a machete and started inflicting wounds on Mr Abu.
Mr Abu’s wife screamed for help as the landlord, said to be an ex-footballer, butchered the helpless husband, and when she tried to physically intervene, Mr Boye vented his spleen on her and inflicted a machete wound on her head.
Complaint
Confirming the incident to the Daily Graphic, the Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Effia Tenge, said a neighbour of the victims reported the incident at the Amasaman Police Station about 7:30p.m. last Thursday, July 16, 2020.
The neighbour told the police that he heard shouts for help while he was working on a building close by, but when he traced the cry to the location, he found that his neighbour, Mr Boye, had butchered Mr Abu.
With the help of some neighbours, who had also been attracted to the scene by the cry for help, the bloodied body of Mr Abu was put in the booth of a taxi cab and taken to the Amasaman Government Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Death confirmation
The Amasaman Police went to the Amasaman Government Hospital and found the body in the booth of a taxi cab parked in front of the emergency ward of the hospital.
Mr Abu, who was in a pair of jeans trousers, had multiple machete wounds on the upper part of the body.
The police conveyed the body and deposited it at the Police Hospital morgue in Accra.
Later, after the police had contacted the wife of the deceased, she went to the police station with a cut on her head with blood oozing.

The police then gave the wife of the deceased a medical form for her to access medical treatment.
The police later arrested Mr Boye, who has since been charged with murder and causing harm.
