Leyland donates to School of Pharmacy
BBC Industrials Company Ghana Limited, a manufacturer of paints and related products in Ghana, has donated Leyland, Leylac and Gold brand paint to the School of Pharmacy of the College of Health Sciences at the University of Ghana to help complete its new three-storey building and management offices and staff block.
The items were presented by Mr Andre Ibrahim, Operations Manager of BBC Industrials, to Prof Isaac Julius Asiedu-Gyekye, Dean of the School of Pharmacy, at a short ceremony in the presence of some members of staff, including Mrs Susan Fosua Okan, Senior Assistant Registrar of the School of Pharmacy.
Prof Asiedu-Gyekye expressed his gratitude to BBC Industrials for their contribution towards the infrastructural development of the school.

He made a passionate appeal to other corporate bodies to follow the example of BBC Industrials and extend other forms of support to the School of Pharmacy and the University of Ghana, in general, to enable them to overcome challenges they faced in their quest to provide top-class education.
Corporate social responsibility
Mr Ibrahim said the donation formed part of BBC Industrials’ corporate social responsibility and a bigger plan to partner the College of Health Sciences and the university in general towards improving its facilities.
He said that as an industrial giant in Ghana since it was founded in 1964, the company would seek other areas of mutually beneficial collaboration with the university, including offering industrial attachment at its modern laboratory and employment opportunities for students.
“BBC Industrials has been in operation for 55 years consistently producing and maintaining the highest quality range of decorative and protective home and industrial products, and we deem it a responsibility to partner the nation’s premier educational institution to help deliver top-class education for industry,” Mr Ibrahim said.
