The suspect, who was a member of a group of five, was arrested at his hideout at Krodua Bawdweasi in the Central Region on October 19, 2014.

The arrest

The Deputy Accra Regional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mr Timothy Yoosa Bonga, said two of Alalemo’s accomplices, Enoch Koney Bibio and Bright Ashong, who were arrested in May 4, 2014, had been put before court and were presently on remand, while two others were at large.

He said a Kia Sorento 4x4, with registration number GR 7520-13 and suspected to have been used in the operation, and a VW Golf saloon car, with registration number GN-7869-Y, were retrieved from Alalemo.

He added that the suspect, who admitted to the crime, claimed the gun used in the operation was with one Red for safe-keeping.

On April 25, 2014, ACP Bonga said, the suspect and his five accomplices, while  in the Kia Sorento 4x4, opened fire on three men who were in a Land Rover.

According to him, the incident led to the death of Yakubu and the injury of the two others who were on board the Land Rover.
