Man dies after 7th floor fall at Lartebiokorshie

A middle-aged-man has died after falling from a seven-storey building at Lartebiokorshie in Accra Wednesday morning.

Identified only as Fiifi, the man was said to have fallen from the top floor of one of the Kwame Nkrumah Flats at Lartebiokorshie.

The incident was said to have happened around 2am.

A friend of the deceased, who made this known on Peace FM, said the young men in the flats (boys boys) usually slept at the top floor at night.

He said Fiifi, who was noted for excessive quaffing of alcohol, had been warned to avoid going to the top floor.

But as usual, he went to sleep there last night with a couple of the guys who suspected he was drunk.

He said some residents claimed to have heard the sound of a falling object around 2am but nobody took it serious until in the morning when people started coming out and they saw his lifeless body on the pavement.

He said the girlfriend of the deceased who was unemployed recently gave birth to twins.

The body was still lying at the scene of the incident as of 9:40am, he said but added the police at Korle Bu had been informed.
