Statement

The six will also be honoured with their plaque of office at the dinner dance and awards ceremony.

According to the statement, the idea of establishing brand icons for the school was to identify and appoint selected old boys of Mfantsipim whose works, exploits, expertise, competence, achievements and experiences in various fields of endeavours epitomised the brand attributes of the school.

Explaining further, it said “Such personalities are positive role models for the young and old and continue to demonstrate active commitment to promoting good morale standards, exemplify good Mfantsipim citizenship; courageous, passionate, inspiring, principled, credible and capable of acting as influential advocates of development and growth of the school.”

As brand icons, the statement said, they would not only be the faces of the school, but also mentor students and staff, support activities and programmes of the school through their own initiatives, and promote the sustainability of the relevance of Mfantsipim to the advancement of Ghana, Africa and humanity

“We entreat you to always and in all things, be mindful of the bigger national and global picture and in the true spirit of ‘Dwen Hwe Kan,’ let your decisions be proven right by posterity and for the greater interest of our nation, Ghana,” it added.
