One of the thieves was found lying on the pavement near the Sonturk Supermarket with several cuts on his body with blood oozing from his head, mouth and nose.

According to an eyewitness who gave her name as Maame Esi, the incident happened around 3.30 a.m. last Friday.

She explained that the deceased was seen holding a laptop around the Sonturk Supermarket and was questioned by some residents about the ownership but he could not establish who owned it.

She said the  mob, suspecting he had stolen the laptop, attacked him with concrete blocks and sticks.

At a spot close to the Savoy Hotel, the body of the second man was also found lying in a gutter, with only his private parts covered.

Those who stood around could not give much details about what happened when the Daily Graphic got to the scene or what he had stolen.

The police had not got to the scene when the paper got there.

When contacted, the Commander of the Kotokuraba Police Station, Superintendent Jonathan Lamptey, said preliminary investigations indicated that the two were not related.

He said their bodies, had been deposited at the Central Regional Hospital.
