The Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Mr Kennedy Osei-Nyarko who is rehabilitating the roads from his own resources, said for the past 15 years, the road network in the constituency had seen no rehabilitation and had become unmotorable.
He told the Daily Graphic that he sought assistance from J.A Plant Pool, which provided him with a grader for the rehabilitation of the roads for a period of three weeks.
Mr Osei-Nyarko said he was spending over GH¢10,000 to provide fuel and meet other expenses for the rehabilitation of the roads.
“We do not always have to wait for the government to provide all our needs,” he said, adding that the gesture was in filfilment of a campaign promise.
He said as MP for the area, he was touched by the hallowing pains that farmers and commuters go through daily as a result of the poor nature of the road network in the constituency.
Mr Osei-Nyarko mentioned some of the places where roads had undergone rehabilitation as Akim Awisa, Akim Swedru, Akote Junction-Akote and Apoli Junction— Apoli and its township.
He thanked the people for the confidence reposed in him and assured them that he would work assiduously to alleviate their plight.
He also thanked J.A Plant Pool for proving him the grader for the rehabilitation work.
