National Chief Imam prays for peaceful elections and Bawumia’s leadership
The Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, joined the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, and a gathering of Imams, Zongo Chiefs, and other community leaders in Accra for a special prayer and thanksgiving session.
The event, held on Tuesday, centred on prayers for the nation’s peace and stability as Ghana heads to the polls on December 7.

Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu led the prayers, invoking verses from the Qur'an to seek God’s favour for Ghana, particularly for a peaceful electoral process. The National Chief Imam emphasised the importance of unity and prayed for continued harmony in the country.
The session was also an opportunity for stakeholders to collectively pray for the nation’s stability during and after the elections.
In a significant part of the event, Sheikh Osman led prayers for Dr Bawumia, asking for divine guidance and blessings for the Vice President’s leadership journey.
The National Chief Imam’s prayer session was filled with Qur’anic recitations, calling for strength, wisdom, and success for Dr Bawumia as he prepares for the crucial election.
The gathering, attended by Zongo leaders and key members of the Muslim community, reinforced the role of faith and unity in ensuring a peaceful electoral process.
