NDC condemns NPP for declaring victory (VIDEO)

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has condemned the action by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to declare themselves winners of the 2016 general elections.

The NPP announced on Thursday dawn ahead of the official declaration of results by the Electoral Commission that they had won the presidential race and were on course to win massively in the parliamentary polls.

But the NDC, led by its Election Director, Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, sharply rubbished the claims, saying the NPP's action was irresponsible and constituted a treasonable act with a potential violence.

He reiterated that the NPP was living up to its true nature by declaring results and proclaiming victory, as they had done in the past.

Mr Ampofo told the media that President John Mahama had a comfortable lead per their tabulations, but the party would not crows out the EC to declare themselves victors. Rather they would wait on the EC to do so, saying the EC has not even announced a single certified result.
