NGO donates to widows

A non-governmental organisation (NGO), United Prophet Africa Foundation, (UPAF), Ghana, has presented assorted food items to 20 widows. This was done in line with the organisation’s commitment to cater for widows and the needy in the society.

The organisation also gave out a scholarship package to 37 basic school pupils in the Weija community in Accra to enable them to further their education.

According to the Founder of the UPAF, Rev. Apostle Prince Isaac Aryee, the sponsorship package would cover their tuition , learning materials, feeding fees and support for the daily upkeep of the beneficiaries who were selected through a registration of the needy carried out by the foundation.

Support for needy

Speaking at a short ceremony to hand over the sponsorship packages to the beneficiaries, Rev. Apostle Prince Aryee, appealed to those endowed in the society to extend a helping hand to the needy in their communities as a way of supporting them and easing the burden on government.

He also appealed to religious bodies and traditional authorities to see it as their responsibility to help the needy.
The organisation also presented an undisclosed amount to three vocational school graduates to be used as start-up capital for their businesses.
