The beneficiaries were identified during a free medical screening organised by the parliamentary candidate in collaboration with the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and Clarion Medical Center, as part of activities for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The outreach included comprehensive health checks, with a focus on eye screenings after Mr Awuah noted a high prevalence of cataracts during his door-to-door campaign.

Following the screenings, medical reports confirmed 58 individuals required cataract surgery.

Mr Awuah covered the full cost of the procedures, allowing the affected residents to regain their sight.

Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude, with one, Maame Malley, sharing that her family would have otherwise had to pay GH¢3,000 for the surgery.

She praised Mr Awuah's generosity and urged constituents to support him in the upcoming elections.

Mr Awuah, a private legal practitioner, secured his candidacy for the NPP in the July primaries, after Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the current MP, was chosen as the running mate to the party's flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
