Obuasi: Two arrested for killing 20-year-old and stealing his motorbike

Two men have been arrested at Obuasi in the Ashanti Region in connection with the robbery and killing of a 20-year-old man, Kofi Mensah, at Tweapease-Aboo.

The arrests followed an intelligence-led operation that traced the suspects to Obuasi.

The suspects, identified as Solomon Opoku and Collins Aboagye, were picked up after one of them attempted to sell the victim’s stolen Haojin motorbike.

The arrests came a few days after the Bediem District Police Command received a report on October 6, 2025, from the area’s Assembly Member.

According to the police, Opoku was arrested on October 10 at Council Quarters in Obuasi while trying to sell the stolen bike.

Further investigations led officers to Aboagye, who was later arrested at Kokotesua, also in the Obuasi area.

Both suspects have reportedly confessed to the crime, and the stolen motorbike has been recovered.

The two are currently in police custody and are expected to be arraigned on Monday, October 13, 2025.
