Police arrest 10 suspects in rural bank robberies

The Ghana Police Service has arrested ten suspects believed to be members of a criminal syndicate that carried out a series of armed robberies on financial institutions, particularly rural banks, in several regions.
The arrests followed months of investigations, intelligence gathering and surveillance which revealed a consistent pattern in the robberies.
The operation, which was extended to the Brong Ahafo, Western, Central, Eastern and Ashanti regions, also led to the death of three suspects who engaged the police in a shootout.
The incident occurred in September, 2025. Police say the suspects are in custody and will face court after investigations are concluded.
