Police arrest 18 more suspects in looting and property damage investigations

The Ghana Police Service has apprehended 18 more individuals in connection with ongoing investigations into looting and property damage in various parts of the country. 

This latest development brings the total number of suspects arrested to 30. The arrests are part of an ongoing crackdown on those involved in violent disturbances that have affected several regions during the electoral period.

One suspect, who was reportedly shot by an accomplice during an attack, has been confirmed dead by medical authorities. Additionally, an Electoral Commission official who was injured during the unrest is currently receiving medical treatment.

The Police have assured the public that intelligence-led operations are still underway, with efforts focused on apprehending other perpetrators involved in these criminal acts. 

Authorities have also stressed the importance of remaining calm, with police officers deployed to key locations to bolster security and ensure the maintenance of law and order.

The looting incidents occurred in the aftermath of the December 7 Elections.
