Police arrest 8 for attack on Metro Mass Transit Workshop in Sunyani
The Ghana Police Service has apprehended eight individuals in connection with an attack on the Metro Mass Transit (MMT) workshop in Sunyani on December 9, 2024.
The suspects are Issakah Taugfic, Abudu Isaiah, Abdul Latif Mohammed, Mohammad Azandoro, Alhassan Issah, Amadu Mohammad, Abdulai Adams, and Abdulai Ibrahim.

According to a statement released by the Police, the suspects unlawfully entered the MMT premises and "attacked and threatened the workers to leave their offices." The incident prompted a swift response from police rapid response teams following a distress call from the workshop, leading to the suspects' arrest.
This latest development brings the total number of arrests linked to recent incidents of attacks, looting, and property destruction to 97. The suspects are currently in police custody undergoing investigations.
In a reassurance to the public, the Police stated: “We wish to assure the public that the Police and other security services are committed to preserving the peace and security within our communities.”
The arrests come amid growing concerns about rising threats to public property and safety in the aftermath of the 2024 elections.
