President John Dramani Mahama will today, January 7, mark one year in office with a non-denominational thanksgiving service at the forecourt of the Jubilee House in Accra, as his administration reflects on its first year in power and signals its priorities for the year ahead.

Held under the theme “Resetting. Rebuilding. Renewing.”, the service is intended to express gratitude for Ghana’s stability over the past twelve months while reaffirming the government’s pledge to national renewal and inclusive governance. The theme mirrors the broader Reset Agenda which President Mahama has consistently highlighted as the guiding framework of his administration.
The thanksgiving service forms part of a series of activities marking the first anniversary of President Mahama’s return to office. It is designed as a moment of unity and recommitment, bringing together faith leaders and national stakeholders at a time when the government is seeking to consolidate economic recovery efforts and rebuild public confidence in state institutions.
Government sources say the occasion underscores the administration’s emphasis on reflection, national cohesion and shared responsibility as it enters its second year in office. The non denominational nature of the service is also intended to reflect Ghana’s religious diversity and promote inclusiveness in national life.
President Mahama is expected to use the occasion to reaffirm his commitment to the principles that guided his first year in office, including stability, accountability and social cohesion, as the government prepares to deepen its reform agenda in the months ahead.
