Public sector workers to get conditions of service by end of Dec.

The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) has given the assurance that it will finalise conditions of service agreements for some public service institutions by the end of this year.

“With category two and three allowances negotiated, it paves the way for concluding conditions of service for most workers in the public service,” the Chief Executive of FWSC, Mr George Smith-Graham, told the Daily Graphic in an interview.


He said the effort had begun with the health sector and would also include institutions in the education, civil and local services.
This means that more than half of the about 600,000 public sector workers will have conditions of service governing their employment, with some having them for the first time.
