Rawlings tweets ‘Rest in peace’ to Aretha Franklin
Ghana’s former President Jerry John Rawlings on Thursday tweeted brief tributes to the late Aretha Franklin, affectionately called Queen of Soul.
The celebrated musician passed away Thursday morning at the age of 76 in Detroit, USA, surrounded by her loved ones. Her family said her death was due to an advanced pancreatic cancer.
“She was indeed the Queen of Soul. Her music used to drive us sweet crazy. Rest in peace”, said one of Rawlings’ tweets to Aretha Franklin.
