Se Menhyia herbalist’s husband commits suicide
“When the police got to the scene, they saw Arko’s body lying in a pool of blood,” he said.
He said enquiries revealed that earlier on Sunday morning, Arko had a misunderstanding with his wife.
When the family sensed danger, they asked the eldest son to take custody of the gun and hide it in his room.
ASP Agbegne said unknown to the family, Arko had a spare key with which he entered his son’s room.
“He ransacked the room and lay hands on the gun,” he said.
According to family sources, Arko fired about four times to scare the family away before shooting himself on the left side of his ribs.
The crime officer said Arko’s body had been deposited at the Police Hospital mortuary, while the police were investigating.
He said it was too early to declare a suicide or suspect foul play.
Preliminary investigations, he said, indicated that the gun used by Arko was for self-protection for the family.
Three empty cartridges, one in the chamber of the gun, and 14 live BB ammunition were retrieved from the room where Arko was found.
Arko had four children with Madam Amoakowaa.
