The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced scheduled maintenance works across four regions that will result in temporary power outages between Monday, August 18, and Tuesday, August 19, 2025.

The power distributor explained that the exercise forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance service delivery and improve the reliability of electricity supply to its customers.

In the Central Region, ECG will carry out planned maintenance on Monday, August 18, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Communities to be affected include Swedru township, Manhodwe, Nsabaa, Duakwa Natifa, Ekwamkrom, Akosua Village, Benso Town, Afranse, Abodom, Bobikuma, Gomoa Mankessim, Kwanyako, Awutu Breku, and surrounding areas.

On the same day in the Greater Accra Region, the company will conduct emergency maintenance works between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Power supply will be interrupted to Adenta Aviation, Mr. Smith, Shallom Estate, Pantang Village, Focus Hospital, Agbobloshie, Sampa Valley, Choice, ABC Junction, Mile 7, West Africa Decor and neighbouring communities.

Maintenance activities will continue on Tuesday, August 19, in the Tema Region from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., affecting Maranatha, Adogonno, Glow Lamp, Frimpongmaa Estates, Lebanon Zones 2, 4 and 5, Zenu and its environs.

In the Ashanti Region, also on Tuesday, customers in Esreso, Adagya, Feyiase, Aputuogya, Abuontem, Adunku, Dedesua, Menase and Adwumam will experience outages between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Additionally, another set of planned works in the Greater Accra Region on Tuesday will leave parts of Agbogba, Abease, Achiama, Obeyeyie, Ayikai Doblo and nearby communities without power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

ECG has apologised for the inconvenience the exercise may cause, assuring customers that the planned and emergency maintenance interventions are necessary to ensure a more stable and efficient power supply.
