The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that parts of Tema will experience a temporary power outage on Sunday, July 6, 2025, as the company undertakes planned maintenance works aimed at enhancing service delivery.

In a public notice issued on Friday, July 4, ECG stated that the exercise is scheduled to take place between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and will affect several residential and industrial zones.

According to the statement, the affected areas include Mckeon, Westrafo, Sky Quarries, Chase Petroleum, Gold Recoveries, Sethi Realty, Abodakpi Farms, Ghana Steel, and Kpone—specifically the Dumpsite and Kokompe zones. Other locations to be impacted are Global Haulage, Franpac, Atlas, Slaughter House, Sonapak, Nissan Assemblying Plant, Vehrad Transport, Isopanel, Legon 5, and surrounding communities.

ECG expressed regret for the inconvenience the maintenance exercise may cause but emphasised its necessity in ensuring reliable power supply in the long term.

“The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) will undertake planned maintenance works to improve service delivery,” the notice read. “We regret the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise.”

The utility provider urged residents and businesses in the affected areas to take the necessary precautions and plan accordingly.
