The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that it will carry out planned maintenance works in parts of the Central Region on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.

The exercise, which will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., is aimed at improving the reliability and quality of electricity supply to customers in the affected areas.

According to a statement issued by the company, the maintenance works are part of ongoing efforts to upgrade and maintain distribution infrastructure across the region. Communities expected to experience power outages during the period include Opeikuma Junction, Opeikuma Young Executives, American Town, Kaemebre, Ash Town, Downtown, New Market, Akweley, Otamens, TV3, Ofaanko, Jei-River, Papaase, Mankomeda, Anomawobi, Jei-Krodua, Osei-Krodua, Opembo, Bawjiase, Fianko and their surrounding areas.

The company expressed regret for any inconvenience that may arise as a result of the temporary outage and urged customers in the affected communities to take note and plan accordingly.

“ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” the statement added.

The power distributor has, in recent months, intensified its maintenance and network upgrade activities across the country to enhance service delivery, reduce outages, and support the government’s energy reliability objectives.
