
See the areas that will be affected by ECG's planned maintenance on September 12
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) have announced that sections of the Greater Accra, Central and Western regions will experience power interruptions on Friday, September 12, 2025, due to planned maintenance works.
In a series of statements, the ECG explained that the exercise forms part of efforts to improve service delivery and ensure reliability of supply to customers.
In the Greater Accra Region, the outage will occur between 9am and 5pm. Areas expected to be affected include Paa Dan, Israel, Alhaji and their surrounding communities.
Residents in the Central Region will also be impacted by the maintenance works scheduled for 9am to 4pm on the same day. The affected areas are Larota, Fiifi Pratt, Millennium Junction, Nyanyano township, Kakraba, Ojobi, Akraman, Breku township, Senya township, Bonsuoku, Bontroase, Fetteh township and nearby communities.
Meanwhile, GRIDCo will carry out works in the Western Region between 9am and 12 noon. The exercise will affect several towns and communities including Bawdie, Akonsia, Adamanso, Assikuma, Subriso, Wassa Akropong, Adesu, Dadieso, Dewurampong, Suhenso, Saamang, Nanakor, Japa, Abenabena, Jonjoso, Pewuakor, Nkonya, Asankragwa, Samerboi, Breman, Moseaso, Kwabeng, Odumasi, Odaotoamoso, Agona Amenfi, Prestea Nkwanta, Bounamah, Manso Amenfi, Nkakaa, Hiawa, Mumuni, Kwasi Larbi, Asundua, Wassa Bekwai, as well as parts of Enchi and surrounding communities.
The power distributors have apologised for the inconvenience the interruptions will cause to customers, assuring that the exercise is necessary to enhance electricity supply.
