The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned and emergency maintenance works in parts of the Greater Accra, Tema, and Central regions on Sunday, July 27, 2025, as part of efforts to enhance service reliability and improve power delivery to consumers.

In a series of separate public notices, ECG stated that these maintenance activities will necessitate temporary power outages in the affected communities between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Greater Accra

In the Greater Accra Region, the ECG will carry out emergency maintenance works. Areas to be affected include Manet Junction, Spintex Junction, Sneada Company, China Mall, Kokomlemle, ATTC, and surrounding communities.

"ECG will undertake emergency maintenance works to improve service delivery," the statement said, adding, "ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise as a result of this exercise."

Tema Region

Similarly, the Tema Region will undergo planned maintenance on the same day, affecting multiple communities from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Residents in Mobole, Ataa Mensah, Afienya, Greenhouse Enclave, Boiko, RSG, Pharmanova, Lakpleku, Bundase Military Training Camp, HFC Estates, Magna Terris, Methodist Junction, Central University, Miotso, Blue Hostel, Abbeykope, McKeown Estates, Atlantic Quarry, IT Quarry, Westrafo, Skyline and their environs will experience power outages during the maintenance window.

ECG said the activity is aimed at "improving service delivery" and apologised for the anticipated inconvenience.

Ashanti Region

Sunday, 27th July, 2025.

GRIDCo will undertake emergency maintenance works to improve service delivery.

Date: Sunday, 27th July, 2025.

Time: 9:00am to 12:00noon.

Affected Areas: New Edubiase, Adanse Asokwa, Fumso Obuasi Zongo, Antobuase, New Nsuta, Twapiase, Hia, Akrofuom, Okyerekrom, Wamase, and its surrounding areas.

Central Region

In a separate development, ECG in the Central Region has announced an unplanned outage due to a damaged underground cable at Ankaful. Affected areas include parts of Esukyir, Police Barrier, Winners Chapel, Mpeasem, Brimsu Headworks and surrounding communities.

"The Electricity Company of Ghana, Central Region, wishes to inform our cherished customers and the general public... that the outage being experienced is as a result of a damaged underground cable at Ankaful," the statement said.

ECG assured customers that its engineers are working around the clock to repair the fault and restore power as soon as possible.

The utility company expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by both the planned and unplanned outages and encouraged residents to plan accordingly. Customers are also urged to visit the official ECG website (www.ecg.com.gh) for updates and further information.
