Suspects accused of vandalizing vehicles at Ghana's Parliament identified
THE security personnel in Parliament have arrested two persons for vandalising five vehicles in Parliament today.
The suspects, named as Wisdom Ahlie, 42, and Christopher Okyere, 33, used an axe head to smash the vehicles’ windscreens and side glasses at about 10.30 a.m.

The cars which were parked on the precincts of Parliament included two Toyota Land Cruisers belonging to Members of Parliament, a Toyota Rav 4 and two Toyota Camry belonging to staff of the Parliamentary Service.

The motives behind the action of the suspect are yet to be established.
While being whisked away in handcuffs, one of the suspect could be heard looking into the skies, saying “Father have mercy on them for they do not know what they are doing”.
Safety assured
Following the timely intervention by the personnel of the Parliamentary Security Unit of Parliament, the suspects were swiftly arrested.
A statement issued today and signed by the Director of Media Relations, David Sebastian Damoah, gave the assurance that “Parliament will like to assure the public that there were no casualties although the extent of damage is yet to be determined”.

"The pepertrators were swiftly arrested by the personnel of the Parliamentary Security Unit and have since been handed over to the Parliamentary Protection Unit (Ghana Police Service) to carry out further investigations into the incident," the statement added.
When the Daily Graphic spoke to some of the eye witnesses on the premises of Parliament, the two were spotted preaching on the premises of Parliament last Wednesday.
“One said he was Jesus Christ and he started preaching in front of the administration block,” Yaw Boateng, a member of the Parliamentary Press Corp, said.
