Total honours visiting veep for Africa and Middle East

Total Petroleum Ghana has held a corporate dinner in honour of the visiting Vice-President of Total Africa and the Middle East, Mr Momar Nguer, at the Golden Tulip, Accra.

The Managing Director of Total Petroleum, Mr Guillaume Larroque, in an address, said their transporters had been strategic links between the company and their customers had worked tirelessly to ensure the delivery of quality products.

He said Total spent GH¢30 million in 2013 as financial package for the rehabiliation of 50 trucks.

“We have installed on-board computers on all vehicles that transport our products, and provided defensive training to our drivers,” he said.

Mr Larroque said TPGL had a working staff of 3,000, including only five expatriates, adding that “the company is proudly Ghanaian”.

He said Total Ghana was listed on the Stock Exchange in Accra because of strong investment prospects.

 Mr Nguer said Total had been spending 90 per cent of its profits annually on investments.

He said in 2013, Total ploughed back GH¢31 million of its GH¢35 million profit back into the business and added that an ultra-modern eco-friendly customer service centre and depot had been established at Tarkwa to service the various mining communities in the area.

He said Total’s mobile laboratory had been travelling across the length and breadth of the country to  carry out quality and safety checks at the various service stations.
