Briefing journalists, the Accra Region Public Relations Officer (PRO), Assistant Superintendent (ASP) Mrs Effia Tenge, said about 1 a.m. on  October 19, 2014, the police patrol team saw the two men breaking into the shop which was close to the Niagara Hotel at Adabraka.

The police, ASP Tenge said, monitored the two for a while. After they were convinced that the two were trying to break into the shop, they arrested them.

When a car they were using was searched, two computers, steel cutter, flashlight and a decoder were found in the boot.

ASP Tenge said the suspects had stolen the retrieved items from a shop at Madina before coming to Accra.

According to the PRO, the Kia Rio, with registration number AW5875-14, which the suspects were using, was intercepted to ascertain if they were the real owners.

She said it was also detected that a figure and letter on the number plate had been tampered with.

ASP Tenge said preliminary investigations also showed that Suleman, who had an injury on the left leg, was arrested in a similar incident with two other suspects in 2012.

The police were conducting further investigations into the incident, she said.
