“Whether in politics or at personal levels, we should speak to one another nicely, no insults and no fights, so that we will have a better nation and better people,” he said.

Mr Tobbin gave the advice at the Tobinco Group’s thanksgiving service in Accra last Sunday to thank God for how far he had brought the company during the year.

In attendance were the staff of the various subsidiaries of the group including Entrance Pharmaceuticals and Research Centre, ABii National Savings and Loans Company

Limited, Priority Insurance Company Limited, Toblues Properties Limited, Dorevents and Beauty Complex and Jam Media Consult which runs Atinka FM in Accra and Agyenkwa FM in Kumasi.

The staff and management of the group, dressed in all white, sang songs of praise and danced to various gospel tunes by the choir of the Dr Wyatt Memorial Temple of the Church of Pentecost at Mallam Attah to appreciate God’s favour on their lives and that of the group.

Business year and 2016

Touching on the business operations of the group throughout the year, Mr Tobbin said aside the interruptions in power supply, the company had achieved a lot with the launch of two radio stations, Atinka Fm in Accra and Agyenkwa FM in Kumasi.

He said the group also began the operations of the Entrance Pharmaceuticals and Research Centre, a manufacturing subsidiary of the group which produces anti-malarial, antiretrovirals (ARVs) and other essential medicines in line with the World Health Organisation (WHO) recommendations.

Additionally, Mr Tobbin said the company‘s popular anti-malarial drug, Lonart, was adjudged the best product of the year (2014) at the 26th Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) awards.

He said in 2016, the group plans to establish a pharmaceutical school to train students who wish to venture into the pharmaceutical sector and also expand its operations to other countries within the West African sub-region in order to increase its supply chain and bring foreign exchange into the country.

“We are also planning to open branches at various places in the country so that our customers can easily access our products,” he added.

Appreciative of customers

Mr Tobbin, therefore, thanked the group’s customers for their continuous support and loyalty shown to the company over the years saying, “We thank you so much for all your support to us for without you we would not have survived”.

Be loyal to one another

Speaking on the theme, “Be a Man after God’s Own Heart,” the Area Head of the Church of Pentecost at La, Apostle Appiah Aidoo, advised the staff and management of the group to be loyal to one another and also respect one another’s opinions and views.

He also urged them to always remember to thank God for all the good things that he had done in their lives and that of the group, adding, “Live a life that God will appreciate, as well as your friends and loved ones.”
