VIDEO: Police offer GH₵20,000 reward for information on Obuasi violence threat suspects
The Ghana Police Service has issued a GH₵20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of individuals from Obuasi who were seen in a viral video threatening violence during the upcoming December 7 General Elections.
The suspects, identified as Fuseini Yahuza, Bernard Ahedor, Simon, Basit, and Musa Yakubu, also known as Agya Musah, are currently on the run after making the threatening remarks that have sparked concerns ahead of the elections.

In the video which first emerged on Tiktok, members of the group speaking in turns make violent threats against the Electoral Commission, stating among others that they were ready to declare their own results.
The police initially declared the individuals wanted on November 15, 2024, and have since been intensifying their efforts to locate them. The threats made by the suspects raised alarm regarding the safety of citizens during the upcoming elections, prompting law enforcement to act swiftly.
In a public statement, the Ghana Police Service called on the public to assist in the investigation and urged anyone with credible information to come forward. They have set up a dedicated phone line (0547927272) for individuals to report any information related to the suspects' whereabouts.
The GH₵20,000 reward is being offered to incentivize people to help law enforcement track down those responsible for the threats.
“We urge the general public to remain calm since the Police are committed to ensuring that we live in peaceful, secure and orderly communities,” the statement said.
The police also reiterated their dedication to upholding the law and ensuring that the country experiences a peaceful electoral process.
