How Adwoa Safo reacted to indefinite suspension of disciplinary committee hearing against her
Former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, made an unexpected appearance at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) headquarters at Assylum Down in Accra on Monday, despite prior communication from the party announcing the indefinite suspension of a scheduled disciplinary committee hearing against her.
Supporters of the former MP gathered at the premises in a show of solidarity ahead of the said hearing.
The disciplinary meeting, convened to address alleged misconduct, was reportedly called off with an announcement on Monday morning.
However, Sarah Adwoa Safo said she had not received any official notification of the postponement.
Speaking to journalists, Ms Safo questioned the party's communication processes and insisted she had not been formally informed of the suspension.
“I haven’t been personally served. When you set a precedent... which is that, you served me to appear personally, which was yesterday, I haven’t seen anything with my security guard as they did yesterday that tells me anything has been postponed."
“I haven’t heard, I have been with my colleague lawyers in my law firm trying to prepare to be here. I think that I should have been served personally, and I haven’t had such notice that is why I am here today,” she said.
