Two polling stations, Dansoman and Mabruk Park, saw larger-than-usual crowds with long queues, including elderly women who were assisted by their family members.
One of the presiding officers, Joseph Arkoh, told Graphic Online that the voting process has been smooth, with verification machines operating properly.
Many potential voters were seen gathering in groups, indicating they planned to wait until after noon to cast their ballots.
