Winner of ‘Airtel Touching Lives’ promotion gets car
Airtel Ghana has presented a Nissan Pickup truck to Mrs Diana Adongo, winner of its ‘Airtel Touching Lives’ promotion.

She was given the award for her deep passion and love for women empowerment and for sacrificing her life and personal finances to improve the lives of women in her community and beyond.
Mrs Adongo has for the past 17 years single-handedly equipped many women in the three northern regions of Ghana with entrepreneurial skills.
Beneficiaries of her entrepreneurial skills training programmes have since set up their own batik, tie -dye and soap-making businesses, thereby offering employment to a number of youth in different communities.
In view of her achievements, “Airtel Touching Lives” presented her with the vehicle to make her work easier and to facilitate her long distance travels for training programmes.
Award presentation
The Managing Director of Airtel Ghana, Ms Lucy Quist, presenting the pickup to Mrs Adongo at a ceremony in Accra, maintained that “empowerment programmes that invest in women pay off in multiple ways.
“Such empowerment programmes build the capacity of women by providing them with the skills, knowledge, tools and confidence.”
Mrs Quist said when women were empowered, they were able to claim their rightful place in society.

Additionally, she said when women were empowered both economically and socially, they became agents of change for economic growth, social progress and sustainable development for their families and the nation at large.
Present at the handover ceremony was Ms Hannah Agbozo, Director of Legal & Corporate Affairs of Airtel Ghana. She said Mrs Adongo aptly personified the very essence of the “Airtel Touching Lives” promotion.
Mrs Adongo, who said she was overwhelmed by the gesture, also expressed her heartfelt appreciation to Airtel Ghana for recognising her contribution to women empowerment in the country.
